Managua to Little Corn Island: how to reach here
You have two options to get to Little Corn Island.
BY PLANE.
Fly with La Costeña Airline from Managua to Big Corn Island, the terminal is located just on the side of Augusto Cesar Sandino Airport in Managua. There are flight twice a day, morning and afternoon. Make sure to book your flight in advaced. To save some money we suggest to book the round trip instead of one way, there is also the possibility of leave the return date open. The flights takes about 1 hours and 20 minutes. Once you reach big corn you can get a taxi that will take you to the wharf in olny 5 minutes for one dollar.
BY BOAT.
Second possibility is taking a bus from Mayaero Terminal in Managua to Bluefields. There are multiple bus everyday (check the timetable in the picture) average cost is around 8 to 10$. The bus is a long ride, around 7 hours, it makes usually two stops for bathroom and food break, crossing all the country till you reach the bus terminal in Blufields. To get to the wharf you can take a taxi (around 2$), it will be a 10-15 minutes drive.
There you can take the ferry that take you to Big Corn. The passengers ferry runs only on WEDNESDAY AND SATHURDAY. Be prepared, is a long journey, between 6 and 8 hour, but it cost around 10$. Slow but cheap!

BIG CORN TO LITTLE CORN
Once you arrive at Big Corn wharf, you almost made it, you'll have to catch the public panga to Little Corn Island, leaving at 10:00 AM and 4:30 PM. The cost is USD 10 per person each way. Alternatively, you can arrange a charter trip directly from Big Corn Airport to Las Palmeras Hotel. Once at Little Corn's wharf, you are a 5-minute walk away from Las Palmeras.
Please note the boat crossing may be canceled in very bad weather and the ride can be bumpy in high winds.
